5 Ways Students Can Prepare for Finals

While it’s quite a challenge to turn EOCTs and Finals into something good or fun, it can at least be turned into something more manageable and less stressful than it is for most people. Here are some tips:

1. PLAN!  Spend a few minutes writing down everything you need to do.  During this busy time at the end of the semester, you probably have projects, EOCTs, sports banquets, etc…, and it is VERY easy for time to get away from you!  Just because you’ve been able to pull a last minute cram session for a test earlier in the semester doesn’t mean it’s a good idea to do so now.

Stop Struggling!

Math JumpStart camps begin in July!  Reserve your spot NOW!

For Students who have struggled with previous math classes, new class curriculum may prove to be more difficult.  Students entering 9th grade in 2012 will begin the new Common Core Curriculum, while students entering 10th grade will take GPS Geometry/Statistics.  Also, budgeting restrictions affecting scheduling may limit student options for Math 3 Support which could seriously impact those students wishing to attend a University System of Georgia school (click here for more details).

Even students who have done well in the past may have forgotten some content which may make building upon it difficult.    Those students on block schedule often find that the semester off AND summer, often make getting back into math somewhat challenging.  JumpStart camps can give these students the additional practice and review they need before they take their math class.
